Tom Designed, Implemented, Tested and Deployed a state of the art J2EE contact management application utilising EJB3, JPA, Hibernate, JSF, Rich Faces, Ajax, TestNG and JBoss Seam (Contextual IoC container).

Tom was responsible for design and implementation of the underwriting module in an on-line Commercial Mortgage application system. Key aspects of the development were:

• Interviewed the business to document Use Cases and Glossary for a new underwriting module in a commercial mortgage system.
• Designed using UML class and sequence diagrams the underwriting module with credit reference agency web service integration.
• Implemented Spring Web Flow screens and Hibernate server side components.
• Rolled out a Continuous Integration process using Ant, JUnit, and cruise control.

Tom joined a large international team at to deliver a new reinsurance administration system build on SOA architecture. Tom spent 3 years as team lead and application architect for the Claims module. He then Joined the Global architecture team to lead front end framework design, build and deployment.

Key achievements include:

• Designed, implemented and rolled out a robust build, deployment and Contiguous Integration process with Ant, Maven and extensive JUnit testing. Key contact with the delivery of 20 components and their dependencies into multiple environments.
• Designed and implemented various framework enhancements used by global application teams.
• Liaised with various global teams on J2EE, SOA and framework architectural issues. Aided development team reviews, architectural guidelines and design decisions.
• Expert performance problem and trouble shooter with UNIX, WebSphere and Oracle.
• Used a customised version of RUP and was involved in the Elaboration and Construction phases. Produced UML class and sequence diagrams using Rational Rose. Worked with the analysis and business teams to produce Use Cases, BPD diagrams and supplementary specifications.
• As team lead, responsible for identifying dependencies and estimate / plan resource requirements for the iterative phases of the Claims development.

Tom developed a Swing GUI Replacement for an existing green screen application for use within a call centre.

Tom led a team to design and build a credit card application Internet site. The application was HTML based using JSP and IBM's Websphere Application Server. Tom held numerous Java workshop sessions to cross train existing RPG programmers.

Tom was involved in developing a finance contract agreement Internet application called eFinance for resellers of HP equipment. The application was written in Java and used the Netdynamics application server in a HP UNIX OS environment.

Client:	Cyberscience Corporation - Hertford
Role:	C/C++ Programmer
Dates:	June 1996 - March 1998

Tom was part of a team of 8 developers involved in rewriting the front end to a database report writing product. The thin client front end was developed from the ground up using OOP techniques, MS VC++, and MFC.
